the end of your conclusion. Paraphrasing is preferred to quotes – only use
direct quotes when absolutely necessary and make sure you repeatedly reference
your discussions.
The
assignment should be split into the following sections:

Introduction (approx. 200 words): The
introduction should include an exploration of the focus of the assignment and state
which learning needs and NMC standards have been selected.
·
The importance of using reflection and
reflective models in practice (approx. 800 words) – This
should be a coherent flow of information/discussion with clear links to
professional values. This section should be written in the third person- no I,
me, you or otherwise
Elements you need to include:
o Relevant
references to support writing.
o Links to
professional values and NMC code
o Explanation
of how evidence-based practice can impact on safe and effective nursing
practice.
o What is
reflection and why is it important for professional practice?
o What are
the reasons for using reflective models?
o Identification
of model selected for reflection (the model should be referenced appropriately).

A reflection on knowledge, skills and values
in relation to the NMC Code ( approx. 1800
words) – this should be structured as per the reflective model chosen and
should reference relevant literature and professional frameworks to support.
This section may be written in the first or third person (or a mixture of the
two).
Elements you need to include:
o Relevant
references to support writing.
o A very brief
summary of strengths as it relates to safe and effective nursing practice.
o Identification
of at least 2 key learning needs as identified in your SLOC.
o Reflection
on the implications for safe and effective practice making links to
professional values, the NMC code and ethical values. This should link to a minimum
of 2 standards which may be from 1 or more themes.
o How you
will address your learning needs utilising opportunities available to you.
o As part
of your reflective model use SMART goals to set out how you will achieve your
learning needs and overcome your challenges.

Conclusion (approx. 200 words): Summary
of the main findings of your assignment.

Presentation
This is
a piece of academic writing so therefore you need to ensure that is written and
presented appropriately i.e.:
·
Clear legible presentation.
·
Title page to include student number, title of
assignment and module code. This should also state the wordcount.
·
Good use of spelling, grammar, and language
throughout.
·
Use an easy-to-read font such as 12-point
Arial.
·
Have 1.5 or double line spacing.
·
