Context/expectations for essay: Your textbook promotes the idea that people, at the time we conside the Renaissance started, (15th century) knew that the Middle Ages had ended and something new and better was beginning. If we assume that this is correct, please use work from specific art in chapter 15 to 18, that is nearly different from prior art, inorder to explain changes in society and nature of art in an expository essay.
My thesis statement must avoid generalizations; consider a statement that is not only emphatic (example: “The world is an epic shift…”) but must also explain why
Renaissance art is still considered a standard of excellence.
My essay must be 3 pages long, in standard college format for MLA. It must
contain two sources. It is based off of the book Jansons History of Art.
