RESEARCH ARTICLE SUMMARY (RAS) ON ADVANCED TOPIC (30 POINTS) A RAS (Research Article Summary) is similar to an abstract, providing a brief overview of a research article. However, the RAS is a condensed summary that extracts detailed information from various research article sections. The key sections from which essential information should be gathered and summarized include: 1) Introduction/Background, 2) Methods, 3) Results, 4) Discussion, and 5) Conclusion/Implications. The RAS must be typed in either Times New Roman 12-point font or Arial 11-point font, single-spaced, and should not exceed one page. The professor will provide additional instructions on how to write the RAS through Blackboard and through on-line discussions. When gathering information from the research article, it is important to paraphrase the content accurately and coherently in the RAS. The summary should include the following elements: the purpose(s) of the study, the methods utilized, the types of participants involved, the experimental design, key findings, any limitations of the research, the overall significance of the results, and any future research suggestions made by the authors.
