For this assessment, you will need to:
- Finalise the title of your research.
- Finalise your research question/s.
- Write an abstract giving an overview of your study, it should briefly introduce the topic area, the research approach and methodology, and provide a snapshot of the results of the study.
- Finalise your introduction which will include:
- An overview of topic that clearly illustrates to the reader what the topics is about.
- Identifies and defines terms or concepts relevant to the topic.
- Briefly mentions previous research studies conducted on a similar topic to justify the importance of the current study. This should convey to the reader, why your research project is important.
- An outline of the context of where your research was conducted.
- A clear statement relating to the objective / aim of the study.
- Finalise your literature review from Assessment Event 2 from ECPPL403A Research in Early Childhood 1. You should make modifications and add to your literature review based on feedback and ongoing progression of your project. The literature review will provide an analysis and critique of the existing research on your chosen topic and will be referenced back to your own research in the analysis of results and discussion section of your thesis.
- Write a methodologies section with justification and definitions referenced to the texts and literature. The methodologies section will include:
- A restatement of the research approach, philosophy, underpinning theory used in your study.
- Data collection tools used and explanation why these tools were selected to be used in the study.
- Techniques applied to ensure the validity of the study.
- Ethical considerations at all stages (prior to conducting research, during research and after research periods).
- A timeline for the research/procedure/phases.
- Compile a results section presenting your findings. You must determine the best / most engaging way to present your findings to the reader.
- Write a discussion section analysing your findings against current literature.
- Write a conclusion section summarising your research and determining future recommendations.
- Include an appendix which will contain all the raw data you have collected throughout the project and signed consent forms from participants.
