Reviewing a Sample IEP and writing if it is in compliant or not, what is missing, what could be added, and why would adding this information or detail be important?

Below are the instructions for the 3rd part of the IEP. I’ve attached the IEP template the group is working on (My color is blue), the Sample IEP we have to reference, and the IEP template with directions. On the IEP template the group is working on, I must work on pages 23 to 26. We are not to answer the questions. We have to read the Sample IEP and determine if the CCC is in compliance or not, and if there is anything missing, as well as anything else identified that they could have done better to complete the Sample IEP.

Section 3: Transition and Assessments– Transition Assessments; Post-Secondary Goals; State Assessments and other Considerations; Participation in State Testing Programs; State Testing Accommodations; IREAD 3; Rationale 

At this time in your program, you may not have a lot of experience with Transition and Assessment Given that the purpose of this aIssignment is to outline the purpose of each IEP component, for IEP – Section 3, we will provide sample IEPs (Course Overview) to help you apply your understanding and knowledge of these components and continue the development of this assignment.  

Candidates should use the IEP Template with Directions to support their knowledge and understanding of each component and use the IEP template they have uploaded to Google Docs to apply that knowledge and develop IEP – Section 3. Using the IEP Template with Directions and the sample IEPs (Course Overview) groups will 1) review the purpose of the component and 2) review the sample IEP example to determine if the information provided and/or each component is compliant. In the sections of the IEP Template, candidates will answer the following explicitly: 

  1. Is the information provided within each component and/or each component itself compliant or not? Please note that the sample IEP may not include some components of the IEP template; and if so, focus on each relevant component and judge whether each component would be compliant or not based on other info presented in the case.

  2. What makes the information in this component and/or the component itself compliant or non-compliant or both? Sometimes, you may find something compliant in terms of, say, IDEA 101 but not a specific state legislation etc. If you think so, please explicitly state it and provide your rationale, reasons etc.

  3. Especially  when you think something is not compliant, what is missing? What could be added? Why would adding this information or detail be important?
