PART 1: Introduction (4-5 pages)
-
1-Contemporary Context. Describe the Risk and Resilience context. Specifically, delineate the socio-cultural identifications of the child or adolescent/ group and social, political and economic context in which the youth/ group resides.
-
2-Rationale for the Intervention. Provide evidence-based (i.e., outcomes studies research or other empirical research) as rationale for the intervention’s effectiveness for this particular youth or group/population and their risk and resilience framework.
-
3-Intervention Description. Describe intervention approach for this youth or particular group/population which responds with a risk and resilience framework.
PART 2: Theory & Ethics (5-6 pages)
-
4-Theoretical orientation & Milieu. Students must integrate risk and resilience frameworks and theory in their theoretical orientation and/or approach to work with the youth or their group/population while also creating a safe milieu (a setting or environment) that is conducive to developing trust and engagement with the young person(s) which facilitates learning and/or growth/healing. In this section of the paper, students will:
-
Articulate the integration of risk and resilience work in their theoretical orientation and
-
Describe the ways they will develop a milieu conducive to effective treatment, learning, development/ growth.
-
5-Ethical Considerations. Discuss the ethical considerations relative to:
-
Treatment/ Education or Training implications,
-
Considerations for client and public safety, and
-
Training/competence considerations required for clinicians/ educators working with the young person(s).
PART 3: Presentation of Your Proposed Intervention and Your Specific Specialty Area for Panel Topic (4-5 pages)
-
6-Evaluation for Effectiveness. Provide a plan for formative and summative assessment of intervention effectiveness. Formative assessment assesses outcomes during the intervention which informs development and process immediately. Summative assessment considers the overall effect of intervention and is considered upon intervention completion.
-
Students will:
-
Describe the types of data to be collected and when (with including actual measures and tests to be conducted with rationale – i.e. Myers-Briggs test, Depression inventory, leadership screening), and
-
Describe the ways this data can be used to inform the development and evaluate effectiveness of the intervention.
-
Close paper with summative paragraphs revisiting rationale for intervention with your specific topic and close with three major points of contention you would like to contribute to your oral presentation which have been informed by your research and your final paper.
PART 4: Oral Presentation – Power Point with A/V Video Posted to Discussion Board:
-
7-Oral Presentation: In addition to the paper the student will submit a Power Point with an A/V presentation of the case study and the proposed intervention inclusive of their risk and resilience framework and analysis. A rubric will be provided and project guidelines posted in the course site.
The paper should be 10-15 pages in length not including cover page, abstract or reference list. Students with fewer than 10 pages and exceeding 15 pages will lose points.
10-15+ References should be cited. (Student with fewer than 10 references will be docked points)
*feel free to use sources below, not all of them have to be used but have to use 10 references*
