Roots of Faith: African American Christianity Before America and of Our Own Making

I plan to argue that African
Americans, with a pre-existing Christian heritage rooted in their African
ancestry and shaped by their experiences of slavery and liberation, have 

contributed significantly to the development and evolution of Christianity in
America. 

Through an exploration of their unique religious practices,
theological perspectives, and 

cultural expressions, this study aims to
illuminate the enduring influence of African 

American Christianity on shaping
American religious identity and fostering social change.
