Select a case study of your choice, and explain and discuss how the various issues associated with your case study are related to both environmental and human security. The aim of this assignment is for you to demonstrate engagement with the unit materials and set readings, as well as the ability to do some research of your own.

IMPORTANT: The use of Artificial Intelligence Al (e.g. ChatGPT) to generate content for your assignment is not permitted in this unit and can result in an academic misconduct investigation. You have been provided with carefully chosen literature that you can utilise in your essay and you need to do your own research into your case study. Mainly, we want to see how you have formulated your ideas, yourself.

  • Introduction – in which you introduce the topic and let your reader know what to expect (300 words)
  • A paragraph or two in which you discuss the concepts of environmental and human security and offer definitions for key terms and concepts (300-500 words)
  • Case study – Describe the situation first, then discuss the issues in relation to environmental and human security. You might want to do these separately or combine them (2000 words)
  • Conclusion – note what you set out to do and what you found (300 words).
