Midterm Assignment (Individual)
Select a photograph of your choice/ or a group of photographs on the same theme/ or a series by the same artist.
You CANNOT choose:
– A painting
– A picture of a national flag
– The photograph “Behind closed doors” by Donna Ferrato – The photograph “Migrant Mother” by Dorothea Lange
Inventory your photograph by listing the compositional elements, visual cues, semiotic signs and codes, cognitive elements, image purpose and aesthetics. Do a thorough, in-depth image analysis using personal, historical, technical, ethical, cultural, and critical perspectives.
2. Submission Content and Requirements
• Word length: 3-4 pages (not including images) 1125 – 1500 words
• Times New Roman, 1.5 spaced, 12pt.
• Title Heading, Your name and Student number at the top of the page
• Name of the artist and the names of the photographs
• YOU CANNOT CHOOSE
