I need to write an essay about the impact of my name on my personality and how it motivates me in life and the following is a prompt that I have written:(I feel like there is a lot that could be added and the flow of the essay isn’t really looking good and natural)
My father named me Nidal . This is not a typical Pakistani name .I should have been named Hussain after my grandfather, or Abid or Imran after my paternal and maternal uncles, but my dad chose the name Nidal for me . He chose it because he loved watching tennis and in particular, he loved watching the skills of a young player from Manacor,Spain named Rafael Nadal. My father admires many qualities of Rafael Nadal such as his determination, sportsmanship and his success in tennis. He also admires his humility.Despite his immense success Nadal remains remains humble and down to earth. So he named me Nidal. He spelt my name differently: Nidal not Nadal because in Arabic , Nidal means ‘’Warrior’’ or ‘’Defender’’. People did question my father about my name just because of the fact it was a unique name for my community. Most people have never heard of it before and they wanted to know the story behind it. So my dad would explain that he named me after his favourite sportsmanship.
It is no surprise that Rafael Nadal is my favourite tennis player as well. Maybe this admiration for talented and skillful players runs in the family. I love everything about Rafael Nadal-his energy on and off court and his never give up attitude which always inspire me. Other then this, his off court activities also inspire me as Nadal is involved in philanthropic work through his foundation, which supports education and social integration for disadvantaged children.These qualities make him a well rounded and admirable person on and off court. I always watch his matches even the friendly ones as well. His aggressive and powerful shots make every match exciting to watch. Nadal’s physicality and athleticism also contribute to his unique playing style.He is committed to his health and training regime even though he has been playing for many years, Rafael Nadal inspires me in many ways his journey and success serves as a reminder for me that with passion and determination, I can achieve good things too.
