Prompt 2: Spend a
few hours in public spaces during a normal part of your day, but make
the effort to be conscious of ever-present symbolism and how it affects
your mental and social interactions. Afterwards, answer the following:
- How do you think other people saw you on a few different occasions?
- What symbols were you potentially projecting that they might have “read”?
- Did your self-image fluctuate at all during the day based on how you
thought others may have perceived you (what theory is this)? - What were some prominent symbols that you found yourself noticing in other people or in the physical environment?
- What social psychological terms from this module came to mind during this experience?
