Guidelines for Writing Individual Term Paper
-
Each student is required to write an individual Term Paper on the topic presented in the Group Presentation. The term paper accounts for 20% of the total score for the course.
-
As this term paper is graded individually, you are advised to formulate your own ideas, and
identify a central theme for the purpose. It must contain a relevant title, an introduction, main body of text, conclusion and references. Graphs, tables and figures should be included where necessary, either in the text or as Appendices. Headings / sub-headings may help readers follow the structure of your paper and the flow of your arguments.
-
Be concise and proofread your term paper before submission to the teacher. Elaborate and justify your ideas/arguments with examples, figures and photos, where needed. Include the date of retrieval when online references are cited.
-
The length of the term paper shall be 2,500 words in English.
-
Make sure you use the proper citation style – APA style (see Annex A). Refereed journal articles and books are preferred to on-line sources, and the total number of references should
not be fewer than 12.
-
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited according to the University policy and regulations on
honesty in academic work. Please complete and sign the honesty declaration form before submission to the teachers.
