. Yes, you can reuse parts of the summaries you’ve written for the reading response assignments, but the final summary will be a polished and revised piece of writing. Do not use first person (“I”) in this assignment (or any formal writing assignment—so no “I think,” “In my opinion,” etc.). Note that this is an opportunity to put into your own words the narratives and ideas present in the book thus far and to ensure you understand Vollmann’s project before you begin working on the next assignment, which will be more argumentative in nature.
