Currently, English language learners (ELLs) of all ages must learn to perform according to high standards of academic and professional usage. They must also learn to correctly interpret messages communicated in a variety of formats from texts and tweets to translanguaging among multilinguals. This complexity presents a number of challenges for monitoring and assessing learning, instruction, and teacher preparation.
Directions: In this assignment, you will reflect on the challenges of leveraging technology to support the success of English-language learners in the digital age of the 21st century.
