Prior to beginning work on this learning activity, read Chapter 3 from the course text, Software Testing Foundations.

Over the next four weeks, you will build concept maps using a software such as PowerPoint or Draw.ioLinks to an external site.. Although these concept maps are separate assignments, they will prepare you for your final project in Week 5 by helping you organize key concepts that you will need to know in order to complete the final project.

Instructions

The main idea behind the general V-model is that development and testing tasks are corresponding activities of equal importance. The left branch of the V-model represents the development process and they are very closely related to what we know from the waterfall model.

For this week’s learning activity, you are going to build a concept map defining component testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing and how they relate to or complement each other.

In addition to your concept map, write a paper that addresses the following:

  • Describes each of the above-mentioned types of testing.
  • Explains how these testing types map to the V-model development process.

Post a link to your concept map in this discussion form and attach your paper. Your paper should be 600 words. Support your content with two to three scholarly and/or credible sources in addition to the course text with in-text citations using the Writing Center’s APA: Citing Within Your PaperLinks to an external site. resource. The Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible SourcesLinks to an external site. table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. Lastly, include title and references pages.
