TOPIC TO WRITE ABOUT IS “The excessive use of social media causes isolation and self-comparisons leading to increased anxiety and depression amongst college students”. Your draft must represent a good faith effort in completing your project. The more you can provide now, the more feedback I will be able to give. Your final submission will consist of two parts: a poster/project and a presentation.
Make sure to review the rubric attached to this assignment so that you know how I am going to evaluate your presentation.

Research Projects
For those of you doing research, you should have a working draft of your poster. The more you have now, the more feedback you will get and the better you will do on your final.
Use the Poster Templates linked above. While you can have some flexibility with color and layout, I recommend not deviating too far from the designs provided unless necessary for your project. They may not be the most exciting, but they’re standard research templates provided by the university.
What to Include on a Poster?
- Project Title
- Your name
- Course number/title
- Professors Name
- Defined purpose (e.g. your thesis/argument)
- A balanced design with words (bulleted statements to drive talking points) and graphics that support your argument
- Make sure to include proper citations with your submission. It’s OK if they’re different from your annotated bibliography. You only need to include the sources used so far, but you do ultimately need to use 10. You do not need the annotations for your poster – those are more the talking points you’re going to make during the presentation. Also, it is OK if full citations don’t fit on your poster. To save room, citations can be numbered superscripts and references can be provided separately.
