Address ways in which the pre-contact world was altered after contact with Europeans and after experiences of conquest and colonization. Things to consider: Identify, define and discuss the significance of colonial practices and institutions. How did these affect gender, race, and class positionality and relations? Was this imperial expansion simply a conquest and imposition of ideals? Or, was this experience more of a negotiated process between Spanish Mexicans, Americans and indigenous people? Draw examples from course material to substantiate you responses.
Format: The Final draft will contain the following:

2. Paper narrative (Required pages: Midterms 5 COMPLETE pages)
Assignments: a. must include a thorough thesis statement in the introduction in which the student identifies the purpose and intent of the paper, the methodology to be used, and a brief statement on the significance of the paper (what the paper contributes to our broader knowledge or to the author’s better understanding of the topic).
b. the organization of the paper must include a statement, evidence, and analysis for each point that is raised.
c. a comprehensive conclusion must reaffirm the major points that are made in the essay. d. pages must be numbered.

g. Citations must include required sources.
This demonstrates that students have completed the required reading, lecture, and video assignments.
3. Bibliography. a. Students must include a bibliography at the end of the paper.
A Bibliography is a list of all sources cited within the document.
b. Method and style of citation is left to the student’s preference.
