e.g. music, news/journalism, film, TV or video games and explain how the

I started writing, but i am unsure of the information i am writing about and think i may have started writing the assignment wrong. I was writing about the impact of globalisation and consumerism on the music festival industry. however i think i need to rewrite/reframe the essay so it includes how the internet has impacted globalisation and consumerism on the music festival industry.
Im unsure of the if these are correct resources to use but other sources i have found are:

Here are some notes i have:
The impact of the internet, globalisation, and
consumerism on music festivals in Australia.
“Music connects
us. It shapes our emotional states and our identities
in ways that are both transitory and profound.”- (soundcheck reference)
Introduction:
Around the
world, music festivals are more than just events—they are cultural sensations
that capture the nation’s vibrant spirit and love for live music. Every year,
from energetic cities to serene rural landscapes, hundreds of festivals bring
together diverse crowds, offering an unparalleled blend of entertainment and
social connection (soundcheck
reference). With attendees
ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands, these festivals have become a
staple in global lifestyles, celebrated by music enthusiasts of all ages and
tastes. Whether it’s the electric atmosphere of a major city festival or the
intimate charm of a regional gathering, the popularity of music festivals around
the globe continues to soar, drawing people together in a shared experience of
joy and community.
This essay aims
to explore the impact of the internet, globalisation, and consumerism on
music festivals, specifically in Australia.
(Hartley) (rereference) describes globalisation as the extension of cross-border economic
connections, resulting in increased societal and economic integration globally.
More broadly, is it frequently equated with the market economy or capitalism.
(Hayes, 2021) Consumerism
is the belief that increasing the consumption of goods and services is
inherently desirable and essential for personal well-being and happiness.
Economically, it aligns with Keynesian ideas that consumer spending drives the
economy and is vital for growth. However, some criticize consumerism for
causing individual anxiety and weakening social cohesion
Globalisation and Music Festivals:
Globalisation significantly influences music festivals
in Australia, shaping their economic, cultural, and social aspects. (reference – Stephanie Hussels)
Positive effects:
Cultural exchange and
diversity
Following (Hartley’s) description of globalisation, Australian music festivals,
similar to Splendour In The Grass, Pitch Music and Arts, Strawberry Fields,
Ultra Music Festival and Rabbits Eat Lettuce bring diverse musical acts from
around the world to perform. This exposure to international artists enriches
the cultural experience of the festivals, allowing attendees and artists to experience
a variety of genres and networks they might not encounter otherwise, fostering
a celebration of global music, art, and dance, reflecting a broad collection of
cultural influences. This facilitates an ongoing dialogue between global and
local cultures, where music festivals are able to combine both local and
international traditions, forming unique cultural hybrids where acts might share the same stage, fostering cultural
exchange and mutual appreciation.
Marques (2014)
explains that festivals can contribute to the development and protection of
cultural heritage, as well as celebrate contemporary creativity and the history
of artistic expression. Pitch Music and Arts Festival, which incorporates
Indigenous culture, begins with a Welcome to Country and an Acknowledgement of
Country, featuring a captivating musical piece. Indigenous culture holds a
significant role in Australia’s history and heritage, and it is essential for
fostering awareness and respect for the Traditional Custodians of the land we
are gathering upon (Indigenous Strategy, Education & Research).
