Introduction should discuss why you chose the topic. Thesis should be the last sentence of the paragraph. Identify a case study. Your personal narrative can be a case study as long as it is accompanied with academic research.
Body paragraphs should contain opinions of authority, facts, and statistics that are supported with your own discussion and examples.
Conclusion should not repeat main points, but should address benefits to one’s personal well being or society in general. Think “significance.” Why is the topic important?
Criteria
1,500 words excluding long quotes and works cited page
5 academic sources
Demonstrates MLA format (in-text citations and works cited page, etc).
Must be submitted as a Microsoft Word file. All students have access to this software through their student accounts.

I have been in and out of a California’s prison system by entire life, now that I have gotten older I am now realizing the effects that it has had on my children’s, as well as my own mental health. I have been in the system approximately 85% of my adult life.
