The instructions for this paper are listed below. YOU NEED TO GO LOOK AT THEM TO KNOW HOW TO WRITE THIS RESEARCH PROPOSAL PAPER!!!
The research proposal project is divided into several parts, including title page, references, introduction, methodology, research methods/analysis, and brief conclusion. The approach is to help you focus on each section of the paper. You will also be given an opportunity to revise, as suggestions on how to improve your paper will be given on a first draft. Your interpretation and implementation of these suggestions will determine how your grade improves on your final assignment.
I. Three Assignment Divisions – These ‘assignments’ are designed to guide you to the final project. You will propose a research project on the psychology/social work topic of your choice. This topic must be approved by the instructor and must fulfill two requirements: (a) it must be relevant to the course and (b) it must be a topic on which psychologists have conducted research.
A. Title Page/References – Your title page will specify the important question that you will address in your proposal, and is based on your chosen topic. It will consist of l typed title page.
The title should be highly descriptive of your topic. The title page will be based upon APA format.
The bibliography will include the main sources you plan to use for your term paper. It must contain at least six scientific journal articles. At least three of these journal articles must be an empirical research study (i.e., containing a method and results section). In addition, to make sure that your review will be up-to-date, most of the publications must be published in the last 10 years (though preferably 5 years). These sections (title and refs page) will be 1 typed page each, though possibly more for the reference section.
B. Introduction/Methods – The introduction covers key points you plan to make with the body of your paper in no more than 3-4 pages. It will also include your hypothesis(es). The introduction should provide a short background on the research topic you plan to cover. The hypothesis will contain operational definitions. The method section will include detailed instructions about your participants and experiment procedure, including method steps and any specific measures you plan to use. The method section will be 2-3 pages total. Please note that you will NOT actually conduct the study due to time and ethical constraints. Please construct the introduction and method sections within the same file as the Title and References. This section, like all sections, is APA formatted and will total 5-7 pages.
C. Results/Conclusion – These sections will include the expected results with related commentary. Your results will include a mention of your expectations and the statistical analysis plan. For the conclusion, you will give a brief discussion of the implications of your study and potential future directions that other researchers may take. Your results and conclusion sections will combine for 3-4 pages total.
I. Final proposal – Your final draft will consist of the sections mentioned above, including the central theories, methodologies, and empirical findings on your chosen topic in psychological research. Your paper will be a proposal of a potential experiment as outlined above. The paper will consist of a title page, introduction, method, results/conclusion, and references section. These sections in sum will range in length from 8 to 11 pages, excluding the title and reference pages. All papers must be typed and double-spaced. All citations and references must be in the professional format of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7™ Edition. *note: sometimes, with time constraints, this feedback will be given upon request only.
– There needs to be an abstract as well, and I uploaded a scientific journal article below that I would like you to use as one of the 8 sources needed.
– All 8 soruces need to be scientific journal articles, and at least 4 of the 8 soruces need to be empirical research studies.
– This entire paper, including the references must be in APA format, and the references should be in alphabetical order as well.
– For the Introduction/Methods sections, for my method I would like you to write about doing a survey that includes specific questions about stuff like sleep habits, academic performance, etc. (whatever else you would feel goes good with it).
– Mentions this in the instructions already but you need a hypothesis as well.
– This paper must be 11 pages altogether, not including the title and references pages.
