My research focuses on gender biases within AI/ML team dynamics and their impact on technology development. I am investigating how gender-based biases—whether unconscious or deliberate—manifest in the way AI and machine learning teams work together, and how these biases influence the design, functionality, and overall outcomes of the technologies they create. Using standpoint theory as my theoretical framework, I aim to explore the experiences of individuals in AI/ML teams and gather qualitative data through interviews. The goal of my study is to understand how gender biases in team dynamics can lead to unintended consequences in technology development, and to identify ways to mitigate these biases for more inclusive and equitable AI systems.
