Background

• The United States shares a 2,000 mile land border with Mexico to the south and an equally long border with Canada to the north.
• In addition, there are about 500 coastal and inland ports serving the commercial and passenger maritime sector.

Topic: Address the following in your presentation:

• The challenges of securing both land borders given the economic importance of international trade and commerce and the challenges of securing the nation’s road, rail, maritime and aviation  transportation systems.
• The role of security partnerships between the government and the private interests that operate most of the  nation’s transportation sector assets and critical infrastructure.
