The topic of the thesis is: The Study of a hole-tunnel on an electric vehicle as a design element component and its impact on the drag coefficient in highway speeds. I am attaching the basic model – example that the professor sent me for the semester project, in order to serve as a guide FOR THE CONSTRUCTION. I would like a Mechanical Engineer to specifically undertake the flexibility and structural part of the study, on this specific topic, following the template I am attaching. The writing language is in English.
However, mainly, I need only the results from SolidWorks, which I would like to be produced in SolidWorks file format (SLDPRT or SLDASM), in PDF and in screenshots from SolidWorks with the appropriate diagrams, so that they can be used in the presentation and in the final file of the thesis. There are no strict limitations or specific requirements; the only requirement is that the result be realistic, so that it can be implemented in practice, based on the cost and manufacturing feasibility of the design. Technical Description of Work for SolidWorks – Analysis & Design The main requirement is to design and create a SolidWorks model, which will incorporate a “Y”-shaped hole in the frame of an electric vehicle, as a design element in order to improve aerodynamic performance at highway speeds. Key points to include: SolidWorks files: Create or edit the existing model with the new `Y`-shaped hole in the rear of the vehicle. The model must maintain realistic manufacturing geometry (space for trunk, components, chassis, etc.). Delivery in SLDPRT/SLDASM, PDF drawings, and screenshots from SolidWorks with detailed views of the interventions (top/front/side + section view if necessary). CFD Simulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics): Performing air flow around the vehicle centered on the hole area. Recording and presenting drag coefficient (Cd), pressures, streamlines and velocity distribution. Comparative graph or commentary between the original and `Y`-hole design (if a previous model exists). Flexibility Analysis (Structural): Analysis of the mechanical strength and flexibility of the hole (using static simulation or stress analysis). It must show whether it is structurally feasible and whether it can withstand the forces applied by the chassis or aerodynamic pressure. Economic Assessment: Estimation of the cost of manufacturing the hole based on: The material to be used in the panel with the hole Required machining (e.g. cutting, welding, reinforcement) If reinforcements for rigidity (supports, etc.) are needed In summary, please pay special attention to the following three key points, which also constitute the body of the work and should be implemented through SolidWorks: 🔹 CFD Simulation to calculate the drag coefficient (Cd), focusing on the design of the body with the integrated hole. 🔹 Flexibility Analysis for the proposed “Y” shaped hole, in order to assess whether it is mechanically and constructionally feasible. 🔹 Economic Assessment for the specific design proposal, with the aim of assessing the viability of its construction in real conditions (material, machining cost, need for reinforcement, etc.). The first thing to do is redesign the floor plan based on the “Y” shape, meaning the model starts with a central hole and ends with two holes at the back, so that there is room for a trunk and component placement (I would like this by April 15th) and the entire construction and design by April 24th to 25th. Please see the files I am attaching, which are completely helpful. This is not a difficult task – the templates I provide are very close to the final requirement and will essentially guide the design and analytical part in SolidWorks. ………………………………………. THIS NOTE ABOUT THE TUTORIAL I am fully prepared to pay the amount even today, as I have already received the final `OK` from the professor and we have agreed that, in this first phase, the results and the design of the project in SolidWorks are requested. I would like to emphasize to you that there is no need to rush – what interests me more fundamentally is finding the right person, that is, a mechanical engineer with proven experience in SolidWorks.
Ideally, I would like to be sent a draft of writer’s work in this specific program, so that I can have a first impression of his approach.
