Milestone Assignment 1 asks students to: (a) identify their topic of interest, (b) write a paragraph on what they plan to write about this topic, and (c) write an annotated bibliography of at least five references that they plan on using in their final paper (see rubric). As noted in the rubric, each annotation should be about 150-200 words.
The topic must be related to aggression and/or violence. The topic can be any topic listed on the syllabus or in the textbook. The best place to see a list of topics is in the index of the textbook. Other topics require the instructor’s approval. Hopefully, you can use this assignment as a building block for your term paper.
You can use Google Scholar, PsycINFO, or Communication & Mass Media Complete to find primary peer-reviewed journal articles. You can cite books, book chapters, dissertations, case studies, review articles, and news articles in your term paper, but they do not count toward your five references because they are not peer-reviewed.
See “APA references” document for instructions on how to format references.
All written assignments should be written in 12-point font, have 1-inch margins, and should be double-spaced.
