Students will submit a PowerPoint slide deck that explores the technology from multiple angles.
Students should submit a deck of no more than 20 slides (plus one works cited slide that does not count
towards your total), including the following:
Title slide
Explanation of the technology
Key terminology associated with the technology
Technology Timeline
Potential to enable digital transformation
2-3 use cases for the selected technology
Predictions for where the technology could go next
Summary of technology and lessons learned
Works cited
The slide deck should be able to stand alone without utilizing the notes section of each slide. This is an
informational slide deck and not a presentation slide deck.
Descriptions for what should be included for each of these topics are included on the following page.

The title slide should include the name of the technology and the name of the student
Explanation the technology
Provide a formal definition of the technology and an interpretation of that definition using the student’s
words and phrasing.
Key terminology associated with the technology
Create a glossary of terminology relevant to the technology so that the user of the slide deck easily
understands subsequent slides.
Technology timeline
Develop a timeline of how this technology has evolved to where it is today. You may choose to start
with the emergence of the technology on the hype cycle or go back to where people originally imagined
such a technology’s existence.
How this technology would enable digital transformation
Research the chosen technology and its potential impact on digital transformation. Gartner hype cycles
may be useful for this but are not required. Consider using technology predictions from sources like
Gartner, McKinsey, Deloitte, EY, Accenture, Cap Gemini, KPMG, and other companies. If you select a
hype cycle that includes the technology, explain why the technology is in its current hype cycle phase.
Use cases for the selected technology
Students should research and outline current use cases for the technology. The use cases should include
how the technology is currently being used within an organization or specific context and how it is
transforming how we work.
Predictions for where the technology could go next
Based on what you’ve learned about the technology, make a few predictions of what could come next in
this space. Utilize your understanding of the hype cycle phases to support your understanding of how
technologies tend to mature.
Summary of technology and lessons learned
This should act as an executive summary of the slide deck. Highlight your original definition stated in
your own words, your favorite use case, and 2-3 points you found most interesting while completing this
assignment.
Works Cited
Students should include in-text citations throughout their presentation as applicable for all resources
used to create their deck. List sources at the end of the PowerPoint. These slides do not count towards
your 20-slide total. All citations should follow MLA format:
