The research paper is intentionally short in order to push you to write succinctly as you summarize a great deal of the relevant literature in very little space (2 pages of text).
- As is customary for all professional research papers in the social sciences, General APA guidelines must be followed in regard to the general style and layout of the research paper (refer to the APA Publication Manual for the specifics).
- Here some additional hints regarding proper formatting:
- The text of the paper itself will be no more or less than two double-spaced, typewritten pages.
- Use 12-point Times New Roman as your font.
- Use 1″ margins on all sides.
- A title page will precede your two pages of text and a references section will follow (with any additional appendices you desire, if needed).
- In organizing your paper, begin with a solid introduction (which sets the stage for the paper), then the body of the paper (where you provide evidence which effectively addresses the issues you set forth in the introduction) and a conclusion (which briefly summarizes your findings and ends the paper with satisfactory conclusions).
