Instructions
The individual term paper is on any of the topics discussed in class. It should only be one topic that you can explore more deeply, rather than multiple topics. The term paper should be at least 7 pages long (excluding references), double spaced, and 12-point font. A title page is not required, but if you include one it does not count toward the 7 pages. It should apply at least one theory we have discussed, should discuss practical implications, and should include at least five original peer-reviewed journal articles, which you can find on Google Scholar or a computer database (e.g., PsycINFO or Communication & Mass Media Complete). You can cite books, book chapters, dissertations, case studies, review articles, and news articles in your term paper, but they do not count toward your five references. Please do not cite my PowerPoint slides as a source. I give the original sources at the bottom of each slide. The references in your text and in the references section should be in American Psychological Association (APA) format (see “APA references” document).
