However, you are NOT allowed to use any of the following as sources for your presentation:

My Scope:

The aim of my presentation is to examine the ethical, economic, and social implications of legalizing organ sales. I will explore arguments both for and against creating a legal market for human organs, focusing on questions of bodily autonomy, exploitation, healthcare inequality, and potential impacts on donation rates. I will also highlight real-world examples and proposed regulatory frameworks from other countries. This presentation encourages critical thinking about whether buying and selling organs can save lives or cause harm.

Form: PowerPoint Presentation

Below is needed for the project all together but technically an additional assignment:

You will have an opportunity to watch 2 videos ( both under 1 hour) that demonstrate the construct of race and how it affects each of us.

In the “Class Divided”video, you will witness an experiment done with third graders in 1968 and In the CNN Special, “Who is Black In America?”you will witness how a different group of older students view themselves according to race.

After watching BOTH videos, you will conduct your research by interviewing 4 individuals, who self-identify as Black.

You may have a list of predetermined questions that you’d like to ask each individual OR you can allow them an opportunity to lead the discussion. The individuals interviewed must vary, in terms of social status, age, disability, culture, or gender. Be sure that you interview people of different categories, to appreciate a full range of answers. What is it that you would like to explore about being Black and in America?

Example of identifiers: (DO NOT USE ANYONE’S REAL NAME!!!! ..only identifiers)

21-year-old African American female college student

57-year-old married Black man with 3 adult children

28-year-old single mother

78- year old Black grandmother

You will conduct the interviews, summarize their responses, and give your final summary/opinion of the work. What did you learn by doing this assignment?

I had originally planned to interview people I know personally for this, but due to a serious personal matter, I’ve had to return home to Texas and finish the last two weeks of school here.
