Transformational
Initiative Portfolio
At the beginning of the course, you will choose a transformation initiative to address an identified issue being faced by an organization.
Throughout the course you will develop elements of the portfolio. You will get feedback and insights from the professor, and cohort colleagues, to refine, edit, and update these materials throughout the course.
Turn in all elements of the portfolio that you have been writing throughout the course, plus some new elements that you have not already submitted. Include updated materials based on feedback. The portfolio for the transformation initiative is to include the following elements:
- Background information, significance, and context about the problem/issue
- Description of relevant trends, forces of change in the environment or other components that support this project.
- Description of the organizing model you adopt, the rationale for the model’s selection, and characteristics of the model that are intended to foster change in the organizational culture and outcomes.
- Communication plan for the change addressed in your portfolio. At the top of your communication plan provide your vision statement for the change
- Data analysis including data dashboard or scorecard and SWOT analysis, with explanatory narrative. Include graphics for data dashboard or scorecard, and SWOT analysis
- Budget and budget narrative in support of your vision and transformation initiative; identify needed revenue sources and resource development.
- Plans to implement transformation initiative, including identifying strategic partners, engaging resistance, and embedding change.
- Describe targeted strategic partnerships taking into consideration transformation initiative, students or customers, community, and labor market needs. Consider the importance of stakeholder involvement, partnership identification and development, and community engagement.
- Identify the type/s of resistance you expect and the strategies you will use to address each.
- Delineate strategies that leaders, managers, and staff will take to successfully implement and sustain the desired culture and climate change.
