Create a Google Slide. It will cover the topic of: During the WW2 time period in the United States, discuss the constitutional issues and impact of events on the U.S. home front, including the internment of Japanese Americans (e.g., Fred Korematsu v. United States of America) and the restrictions on German and Italian resident aliens; also the roles of
women in military production. I am teaching this presentation to my high school class in California. It covers my California teaching standard of:
11.7 – Students analyze Americaβs participation in World War II, section 5: Discuss the constitutional issues and impact of events on the U.S. home front, including the internment of Japanese Americans (e.g., Fred Korematsu v. United States of
America) and the restrictions on German and Italian resident aliens; also the roles of
women in military production; ……. Make sure in the slides you point out that the material covers the standard. Please have one or two slides about how currently in the United States that there is immigration laws that seperate families of illegal citizens and how that relates to the same concept of the Japanese Americans internment camps in WW2. Also have one slide devoted to “The Zoot Suit Riots” during WW2. Please provide clear and simple and fun speaker notes for each slide. Have the slides be colorful and have lots of interesting pictures in these slides…. Really important: start the slide with an “Essential Question” that guides the entire presentation. The essential question is overarching main idea for the kids to learn during the slides. At the end of the slides, you will sum up the “essential question” and give a summative answer to it. Also at the end of the slides, have 3 “Post-Assessment” questions that the kids will do for homework, basically these questions are for kids to answer to sum up the most important thing they learned during the slides.
