Throughout this course, you will conduct various reflection activities, culminating in a comprehensive examination of your own development through major life stages thus far. In addition to reviewing your progression through the major developmental stages, you will incorporate the impact of stress/trauma and resilience, oppression and discrimination, health and wellness on your development.

 

Reflect on the timeline you created in Module 1. Based on your reflection of this timeline, select ONE significant developmental period from your development and apply Brofenbrenner’s Bioecological Model of Development to your life. Using the model, make notes from your life for each layer of the model. Next, identify which elements would be considered Proximal Processes and which would be Distal Processes that modify the Proximal Processes during this time in your development.
