Using the country you chose for your final project paper, you will do your own research to explore your country based on the following three factors:
- Food, Dietary Habits, and Body Image
- Education
- Access and Utilization of Healthcare
Identify 2-3 scholarly, peer reviewed articles that focus on the above factors for your country. Non-academic resources are not acceptable for this assignment.
Explore and list key findings relative to the following requirements
- Describe the food, dietary habits, and body image of the country you chose to research:
- What foods are typically consumed?
- Consider access to healthy and nutritious foods.
- What barriers might limit people’s access to nutritious food?
- How does family wealth or poverty impact healthy dietary habits?
- How do these impacts on dietary habits affect health?
- What food associated customs and traditions exist in this country?
- Do different populations within the country have distinct relationships with specific foods?
- Is having or sharing food an expected demonstration of wealth or health?
- Explain the cultural views on body image and the factors that influence those viewpoints: Is height important? Is roundness or thinness revered? How are physical limitations or disabilities viewed?
- How does the information from your research on the food, dietary habits, and body image of the country you chose compare to the United States?
- Describe the educational systems within the country you chose:
- How accessible is the system?
- Is it restricted in any way to any part of the population?
- What factors influence the quality of education?
- Is everyone afforded the same funding opportunities to attend school and higher education?
- Consider the different levels of education; childcare, Pre-K, K-12, College, or University and describe the resources available to support learning outcomes.
- Are the education institutions public or private?
- What vocational opportunities are available?
- How might the existence or lack of existence of access to these institutions or opportunities impact individuals and families, personally, professionally, and economically?
- What are the literacy rates in the country?
- What barriers or social behaviors might contribute to low or high literacy rates?
- How does the information from your research on the educational systems within the country you chose compare to the United States?
- Describe the access and utilization of healthcare in the country you chose:
- Consider how healthcare impacts the welfare and stability of families.
- Is access to healthcare equitable for all citizens?
- How many medicals facilities and doctors exist within the areas where people live?
- Do they provide medical services for all people?
- Be sure to investigate how the healthcare system functions, whether public or private. How does this public or private system impact access?
- How does access or lack of access to healthcare impact individuals and families in this population?
- How are the costs for healthcare funded?
- Does the Government fund any healthcare for their citizens? If yes, is it enough?
- How does the information from your research on the access and utilization of healthcare in the country you chose compare to the United States? If you changed the healthcare system of the United States to reflect that of the country you researched, what significant changes might occur? Who in the United States might benefit or suffer from this change?

Once you’ve accessed ClaudeAI, you can use the tool to identify cross cultural research for the topic that interests you. Use only scholarly, peer-reviewed, research articles. Refine search chat as needed. See example.
- Be sure to find the article in the WMU libraries or online. You will need to share a link with me to the article you choose.
- Be sure to read the article to ensure that the AI tool is not “hallucinating” (If Claude is hallucinating an article may not exist or may not say what Claude says it does).

- Write a brief comparison paper of 2-3 pages, sharing your findings about your country of choice and concluding with 2-3 paragraphs discussing how our different values, beliefs and perspectives around Food, Dietary Habits, and Body Image, Education, and Access and Utilization of Healthcare impact our understanding of each other and our ability to work together?
