Was mid-twentieth century civil rights progress due more to government power or public activism?

I need someone who has access to the book Eric Foner, Give Me Liberty! VOL 2. (Seagull – 7th Edition), W. W. Norton & Company. ISBN 9781324041573.

You have to put your own analysis in the essay and not just what the book says. To be creative and question any evidence you use.

I have uploaded the rubirc as well.

The third essay prompt is as follows:

Was mid-twentieth century civil rights progress due more to government power or public activism?

This is a binary question. Both choices are correct, but you must pick the more correct one of the two. You cannot pick both, you cannot pick neither, and you cannot create a third option. Your argument must therefore defend against the other position. You must write a thesis statement (a position) and defend it using the textbook, the primary sources, and your own reasoning. The essay must be between 300 and 600 words, double-spaced, with reasonable font and margin size choices. It is not required to use all sources. Citations are required, and must be formatted in Chicago notes-bibliography style. The paper must also have a bibliography list at the end. Neither the bibliography, citations, name, or date count towards the word minimum.

Most of the information can be found in chapters 24 and 25 of the textbook.
