“What are the experiences and challenges faced by siblings of children with special needs, and how do these experiences impact their social, emotional, and academic development over time?”
This research question delves into the often overlooked perspective of siblings in families of children with special needs. By exploring the unique experiences, both positive and negative, of siblings, the study can shed light on the challenges they may encounter, such as feelings of responsibility, jealousy, or isolation, as well as the potential benefits, such as increased empathy and resilience. Understanding the impact of these experiences on siblings’ social, emotional, and academic development can inform the development of support programs and interventions tailored to the needs of this population, ultimately promoting more positive outcomes for the entire family unit.
I’ve attached the instructions for this paper, as well as the rubric. For the 5 sources, they need to be listed on the Literature Review Table, and have an annotated bibliography.
