You will be responsible for selecting a topic and for finding, reading, and synthesizing relevant and credible sources. As a class, we will practice using NMSU library resources and web resources to find the sources that are most relevant for our purposes.
Requirements
A successful Unit 3 Essay will…
- answer a feasible, debatable research question related to your work from Unit 2 or your field of study;
- be organized around a central thesis that requires evidence and analysis for support;
- synthesize and integrate at least 8 relevant and credible sources;
- address and respond to counter-arguments;
- be consistently formatted in MLA style, including in-text citations and Works Cited;
- be well-structured, well-written, and considerate of your reader’s interest and engagement;
- be 1,500 – 2,000 words.
