Lang claims in the end that he would have been successful without the forceful parenting his father provided. However, even though research has shown some poor mental health effects from “tiger parenting,” memoirist Kim Wong Keltner, in an interview with writer Yasmin Anwar, claims to still believe that some aspects of that parenting style — the same style Lang experienced — are worth retaining.
