  1. Who is the hero of the Iliad, Achilles or Hector? Support your answer with evidence from the text.
  2. A major theme in the Iliad is the glory and honor achieved through battle, but the poem has also been interpreted as a narrative about the horrors and trauma of war. Which view is more accurate? Does it have to be one or the other?
