Guidelines: 1. Develop a debatable and concise research question related to the problem/topic of your choice. 2. Next, identify a theory of composition which will help you to propose a solution to the problem. 3. Then, research at least ten (10) sources to use in your paper. A minimum of seven (7) of these sources must be from scholarly peer-reviewed journals The bulk of the paper must be your original thinking- not extracted material from a. the sources. The research you will do for this essay is to be utilized to support your claims- not argue them Write a 10-12-page paper in which you make your argument. The argument must include, at a minimum, the following: a. The exigency of the problem/topic you are discussing. b. A clear and concise research question or thesis statement to serve as the focal point of the paper. c. An analysis of a theory of composition and how it can be applied to help address the problem/topic you’ve chosen. d. Claims supported by evidence. All cited information must be contextualized to your argument, Do not assume the reader will make the same connections as you do. e. A Works Cited page which does not count towards the overall page count. Large inserts (i.e. charts, block quotes, pictures, etc.) also do not count toward the overall page count
