Working Conditions during the Industrial Revolution and what the English government did to improve the situation by the Factory Act of 1833 or Mines Act of 1842. Students will write a 1,000 word essay using the linked sources provided below. Students will select 3 or 4 workers or miners to write about and discuss the specific problems which the workers faced. You may focus on just women or children or adult men or you may select one from each category. If you wrote about workers, you would discuss the provisions of the Factory Act of 1833, and if you wrote about miners, you would discuss the terms of the Mines Act of 1842. Be sure to use quotation marks for any and all exact wording and to cite where your specific information came from. Failure to do this correctly is a form of plagiarism. The essay should conform to the MLA format. The essay is to be uploaded to Canvas by 2 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2024 (not 2:01 pm or later).
