Write a report of 1,500 words (+/- 10 %), to advise the United Nations on ways in which psychology can help to optimise their information gathering practices for witnesses/victims across the world.
Use the guidelines ‘New Principles on Effective Interviewing for Investigations and Information Gathering Effective Interviewing for Investigations and Information Gathering’ (https://www.apt.ch/news/new-principles-effective-interviewing-investigations-and-information-gathering) incorporating the ‘Mendez’ principles to inform your report.
For the purpose of this report, please focus on principles 2 (on practice) and 3 (on vulnerability).
Because practitioners do not always have a lot of time to read reports, try to structure your ideas in a clear, practical, concise and easy to understand format (for example, it may be appropriate to use headings to help illustrate your ideas). In addition, a clear list of recommendations should be provided at the end of the report.
Your report MUST contain the following sections:
· A short ‘INTRODUCTION’ explaining the reason(s) for writing the report (i.e., the aims of the report). The intention here should be to capture immediate interest and attention. Introduce the Mendez principles to set the report in context. (approx 300 words)
· A ‘LITERATURE REVIEW’ section that succinctly outlines the scope of your topic and the key points and issues arising from it, referring to psychological theory and research (approx 900 words).
· The penultimate section should provide a clear summary of ‘RECOMMENDATIONS’ resulting from the foregoing subject review for the reader to consider. These should be in bullet point or list format (approx 200 words).
· The report should end with a ‘CONCLUSION’ that provides a very brief summary of key elements within the report and recommendations made with some reinforcement of the benefits to be gained of applying psychology in this way (approx 100 words).
The report MUST be fully referenced and formatted using APA 7th format.
