This paper should include no less than eight pages in the body.  The executive summary (abstract is not considered one of the pages.  The abstract should be on a single page, presented before the table of contents.

– Students should include at least five peer-reviewed articles (no older than five years old), two recognized investigative newspapers, two professional HRM publications, from recognized sources such as SHRM, and/or professional journals from the Library…for a total of nine relevant sources.  If the student wishes to include older articles, they may do so; however, they are in addition to the primary list of sources.

-References should be included throughout the text and cited in APA 6th edition format. 

-Number each page in the lower right of the paper.  Do not number the cover page. 

– The paper should be double-spaced and include an academic 12-point font. 

Grammar and structure:

Sentences should be short, to the point, and structured appropriately.  Paragraphs should be fully developed, include major points, supporting evidence, and a transition sentence to the next point(s) and paragraph.  Spelling and grammar will be reviewed and considered when rendering a final grade.

The body of the paper should be comprehensive in nature.

WRITTEN HRM RESEARCH PAPER TEMPLATE

The following sections should be included in the paper:

-Running Head (with formal title)

-Cover Page (with all appropriate information included)

-Table of Contents (structured appropriately)

-Abstract/Executive Summary (no more than 150-300 words describing what is in the content of the paper).  Points will be deducted for a poorly drafted abstract.

BODY OF THE PAPER TEMPLATE:

1-TOPIC

Main HRM topic and reasoning behind this choice.  Provide at least two to three references in this section. For example, you might include two current newspaper articles and one current peer-reviewed article to explain your interest. 

2-BACKGROUND

Background information on the topic.  Include examples, case studies, research studies, current events, etc. to present a comprehensive background on the chosen topic. Provide references, cited appropriately, for each example.

3-ANALYSIS AS TO RELEVANCY IN HRM

Author’s analysis of their HRM topic and its importance in today’s current business environment.  Include internal and external issues (documented by relevant sources) to illustrate your position.

4-DISCUSSION

Discussion section: Authors should present specific issues (related to the chosen topic) HR managers regularly address. 

 For example, if the student is presenting diversity in the workplace, a fully developed discussion might include the specific type(s) of diversity found in the current workplace settings. They may present challenges, dilemmas, obstacles, and prejudice found in the workplace, based on the specific diversity.  

This discussion section must include specific strategies HRM departments engage in to address each point the author decides to make in this section.  In other words, present a point on diversity and an HRM application to address the point.

5-RECOMMENDATIONS AND BEST PRACTICES

-Author should present fully developed recommendations for successful HRM strategies, based on successful best practices and strategies.

6-SUMMARY OF ISSUES ADDRESSED IN THE PAPER

This section should include a brief summary from all other sections, concluding with a final conclusion from the author.

7-REFERENCES 

The reference page is a separate page and not considered part of the body of the paper.

8-ADDENDUM

An addendum may include copies of newspaper articles, video presentations from HRM experts, copies of best practices from relevant business/organizations.  These sources must be documented in the body of the paper and cannot be added without citations.
