Case Detail:
I currently work with a client who is 18 years old and just had her son removed due to being born with drugs in his system. The 18-year-old girl recently gave birth to another child but has just been informed that the newborn child may get removed because of her already open ACS case. Due to the fact that the mom has been actively tending to her services and currently in a mommy-and-me program I have struggled with agreeing with ACS to remove her newborn baby. Morally I felt she should have a chance to do better while still plan for the return of her son, but professionally the protocol is that the newborn should be removed due to an already active case being present.
