Based off of the research article attached, use the following questions below to write a paper and answer the questions as best as possible.
As clearly as you can, state the purpose of the study. What is the author(s) trying to accomplish
in this study? Does the author(s) include one or more Research Questions in the study? If so,
copy them in your own paper.
2. What is the population, the sampling frame, and the sample that the author(s) used? Did the
author(s) discuss the sample size and how the sample was chosen from the population? Do you
think that the sample was chosen in a reasonable way? Would your study be considered an
experiment or an observational study? Why?
3. Discuss the variables that the author(s) studied, identifying them as precisely as you can. How
did the author(s) measure the variables? Do you think the variables were measured in a
reasonable way? Did the authors discuss anything about the reliability or the validity of the
measures they used? Can you think of any important variables that the author did not consider?
If so, how might considering those variables have changed the results?
4. Are there any graphs or tables included in the article? If so, describe them. Did you find them
easy to follow? Was it clear to you why each was included in the article? Were any of them
misleading in some of the ways we’ve discussed in this course?
5. Does the author(s) include descriptive statistics in the paper, such as percentages, mean, median,
mode, variance, standard deviation, and/or quartiles? If so, report these results clearly in your
own paper. (Some articles have a large number of summary statistics; if this is true in your
article, you might just cite one or two examples from your paper and mention where I can find
the others in your article.) Are there any summary statistics that are omitted but should be
included? Does their omission affect your interpretation of the results of the paper?
6. Does the author(s) include any discussion of relationships between variables? If so, are
scatterplots and/or correlation coefficients included in the paper? Are the relationships the
author(s) found positive or negative? Strong or weak? Do any of the relationships the author(s).
