I encourage you to find a marketing IMC topic of your choice and write about it, something that resonates with you. However, if you need an idea for a post feel free to consider:
- Come up with a marketer who tried to stimulate sales by using customer’s senses, whether it be from a print ad, a scent strip in a magazine, a sound, jingle… Do you think it was effective? Why?
- Can you come up with what you might have originally thought was a “dumb” ad (ex: perhaps you originally thought the Axe ads were just silly), but now in retrospect you think was smart? Why?
- Please include a YouTube link or file to the commercial/ad.
Response classmate’s post: “Whenever I think of a song/jingle for any company my mind immediantly goes to the red robin commercial song. Even nowadays when I go to Red Robin, my friends and I somehow end up saying the catchphrase even though we haven’t seen the commercial in a while. But because it was played a lot when we were younger, it stuck in our heads and I honestly don’t think I will forget it. This was smart for Red Robin to keep it short and sweet because I believe it had more of a memorable effect.
