For this assignment, imagine you are an expatriate manager for a subsidiary of a major company headquartered in the United States. You are preparing a PowerPoint presentation to brief the CEO on your plan to address the safety issues specific to the country (of your choice) where you are working as the expatriate manager; the focus is on the employees who are citizens of that country (not you as the expatriate).
In your introduction, consider the employment laws/culture of the country you chose (you will need to do some outside research for this) and identify four concerns in the workplace: benefits, safety, health, and global security issues. List one issue and related law for each concern listed.
Next, based on your research of the employment laws and culture of the country you have chosen – prepare a solution for each of the four concerns. Discuss how your solutions address the issues within the workplace.
Conclude your presentation with a summary of how you will design and deliver the training for employees, keeping in mind Geert Hofstede’s research (beginning on p. 564 of text) about cultural differences and your plans to assess its success.
The speaker notes should be developed to completely explain each bullet point on your slide. Be sure to include clear and specific speaker notes for each slide. If you chose to use audio speaker notes, include a copy of the script you are using in the speaker notes section under the slide. Use paragraphing in the speaker notes; do not lump the information for each bullet point together. As a general rule, each speaker note should include 5-10 sentences.
You must include a minimum of one image or graphic within your presentation. You must use at least two sources, with one being the textbook.
Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least ten slides in length, not counting the title or reference slides. Adhere to APA style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.
When you submit your PowerPoint, don’t worry if you can’t see your speaker notes in BlackBoard. When I download the assignment to grade, I should be able to see the speaker notes — if by some chance I can’t, I’ll let you know and give you an opportunity to resubmit.
