As we look ahead to week 4, I’d like to encourage you to start thinking about your midterm paper, which will be due next Sunday. There is more information about the expectations for this paper outlined in your syllabus. However, I wanted to send this announcement as well to remind you of the paper and to recommend that you consider starting your research for this paper. AS A REMINDER: You must take the plagiarism tutorial and quiz before you will be able to submit your midterm. Please take this ASAP if you have not already done so. You can find it in the Week 1 content.
For the paper, you are required to choose four of the six Ancient Wonders of the World to discuss in your writing. You may not choose the Great Pyramid at Giza, but any of the other Wonders may be included. In the paper, you will report on the four of your choosing, answering the following questions:
- What is it?
- Who commissioned/created it?
- How was it built?
- Where was it located?
- When was it constructed?
- Why was it considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World?
- What happened to it?
Your paper must be a minimum of four pages long, typed double-spaced with 1″ margins and 12 point font. Please be sure you are using MLA style to cite the sources that you consult for your paper.
You are required to use at least two books in your research. You may use as many internet sources as you wish. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is NOT an acceptable source.
