Write a 700- to 1,050-word memo to establish the relationship between the environmental toxins from the incident and the human health impacts. The title page and annotated bibliography do not apply toward the required word count. All factual material in the memo needs to be cited in the text in APA format – usually (author, year) for paraphrased material or ideas, or (author, year, p. #) for direct quotes. - Properly formatted title page with page number 1 at the upper right and no running head. The title of the paper (and only that) should be in bold font.
- Properly formatted memo with title repeated on page 2 in bold font, page numbers, subheadings, etc.
- Properly formatted in-text citations (which is not just a url). Typically, they should be (author, year) for paraphrase or (author, year, p.#) for direct quotes. Cites should always be in the sentence instead of after. This is a great tool for help: Reference and Citation Generator.
- Lack of in-text citations is a significant issue. This impacts content as well as formatting and means that significant points cannot be earned.
- Properly formatted annotated bibliography using the hanging indentation format in alphabetical order by author. Only references cited in the text may be listed on the reference page.
